Why I want to be in the Kindle Bzz Campaign.

I have been a Bzz Agent since it first started online years ago.   I LOVE being a Bzz Agent!   My family and friends love me being a Bzz Agent because they get to learn about new things and get cool coupons along the way.

Yep I'm sitting here at the sewing machine working on Breast Cancer Awareness monkeys.  I started to get bored and just had to start surfing online.  And look what I found!   

I have always been a huge fan of Ashley over at lil blue boo.   She sews some of the cutest outfits for her daughter.  She makes amazing patterns as well.  I've been a lurker for a few years now reading her blog off and on.   I love it when she makes a blog posting about lets her daughter paint.   She is so talented too!  (Must get it from her Mom.)  Tonight I clicked on her blog and was just blown away.  All that I can say is WOW!  This is the most amazing thing that I've seen her post yet.   Please click on the link below.  You'll enjoy it I'm sure.

Sock Monkey Sunday!!

I have been so busy making other monkeys that I've really missed making sock monkeys.   So, I decided that I'm going to make at least one sock monkey each week and post it on my blog on Sundays.   It will also go up on my Etsy page for sale the day that I post the blog.  

I'm going to try to figure out how to add inlinks to my blog so that you can all link pictures of sock monkeys that you have made as well.   Won't that be fun!!

Little Girl's All Grown Up

Gosh, I get really nervous when I think about my little girl growing up and moving out into her own place. It seems like just yesterday she was 10 years old but now she can drive and is about to graduate college and get her own place! Her mother and I bought a house for her to move into so she wouldn’t have to worry about rent those first few years and I think she’s really grateful. It’s in a great part of town and we got her a ALLhomesecurity.com/ security system so I wouldn’t be the anxious father, at least anymore than I already am. She tells me I’m smothering her and I need to let her go but it’s tough when you raise a kid for eighteen years and then all of a sudden they become an adult! I guess I better get used to it since I’ve got 3 more young ones behind her and they’re all going to go through the exact same thing. I know they’re dreading my reaction to it!

Welcome to the world baby girl.

My Nephew and his wife are having their 3rd child in a few months.  We are finally getting a little girl to love and spoil on this side of the family!   Of course I wanted to make her something special to welcome her to the family.

I found the tutorial for this blanket over at The Crafting Chicks.   I love their blog!  I've found so many wonderful tutorials on there!   This is really the easiest blanket that I have ever made.

I will definitely be making this the "go to" baby gift from now on.  So, if your a friend of mine and your expecting.  You know what your getting.   lol

And of course, being me, I had to make a toy to go with the blanket.  I love the way the cute little doll turned out!  I will hopefully be able to make some of these with matching blankets for my Etsy store one day.

Our trip to Galveston this year.

The week Monday May 2nd to Friday May 6th is Teacher appreciation week.  My oldest son is in Kindergarten this year.  We LOVE his teacher!   She goes above and beyond our expectations all of the time. 

I love to read blogs all the time and I know that 

I came across this idea somewhere.   

But, I can't for the life of me remember what blog that was....

I bought a house plant for $5 and some teacher gift card holders at Dollar Tree.  Then, I bought a $5 gift cards to Sonic, 

Target, Chick Fil A, Dollar Tree and Starbucks.  

I got 6 of those flower picks at the store where I bought the plant.  

Then I put all of the gift cards on the picks and a card on the last pick. 

I had some ribbon here with ABCs on it and made a bow.

So there you have it!   A very simple gift that I think my son's teacher will love.  He wants to carry it in to the school tomorrow but, I told him that I would act like a delivery person and deliver it to her.   lol  

Vital IDs from Belly Charms

My oldest son will be going on his very first field trip to the Dallas Arboretum this month.  He is SO excited and can't wait to ride the school bus.   I'm very thankful that the school is letting me tag along with him on this special day.   The gardens are just beautiful there and I know that he will enjoy it.

The teacher has asked all of us to wear the same color that day so that we can all stay together as a group.  Well, I wanted to go a step further to make sure that my son would have my information in case he got seperated from the group.  He knows his Mom's and Dad's names and phone numbers, address etc.   But, I wanted another something to reassure me that he had the information on hand.

In the past I have written our information down and tucked it into my little one's pockets when we went out to the fair, mall, park, etc.  I've even written down everything and folded it up and stapled it to their shirts.   (They didn't like that.  It was way to scratchy.)

I have been a long time reader of a blog named Belly Charms.  Sonya has two little boys close to my boy's ages and I can relate to a lot of her day to day blogs.   Plus, she makes the most beautiful bracelets that I have ever seen!   Oh and of course, she sells Belly Charms for those cool Mom's to be that have wear belly button rings.

Sonya also sells these really cool bracelets for kids and adults as well.  Vital IDs are wonderful!   They come in really great colors so that the kids will think they are cool.  The Vital IDs come with a card that you can fill out with all of your important information.  You just slide the card into the bracelet and then velcro the bracelet on.  It's really strong and stays on all day long.  Plus, they are waterproof!  I knew that these bracelets would be perfect for my boys for field trips and vacations.

We got the bracelets in the mail and my boys wanted to wear them right away.   They love them!   They think they are really cool!  Which is great and it makes me feel just a little bit safer knowing that they have their bracelets on.  Plus, I keep the Vital IDs in my purse so when we are out and about at the mall, etc. I have them put their bracelets on.     

It was a really sunny day and they couldn't keep from

squinting their eyes. lol

Making Monkeys

For those of you that have known me for awhile, you already know that I make and sell monkeys online.  I've been working really hard the past few weeks trying to catch up on all of my orders that I have coming in.   Well, my orders are still coming in and I am booked up with orders until at least July of this year.   It's been amazing and wonderful the way that my business has grown over the past year.

Shopping for bar stools.

We moved into our new house about 6 months ago. We love it! It's much bigger than our other house and we don't feel like we are bursting at the seams anymore. The one thing that I love about this house is the breakfast bar.   It's a great place to have the kids sit and eat breakfast in the mornings.  And a wonderful place for them to sit and watch me plus help me cook dinner.  Oh and I love it for homework!   I can work on dinner and help the oldest with his work at the same time.  I have to multitask as much as I can so I can get back to sewing all of those monkeys for y'all. 


I was recently contacted by CSN Stores to do a product review for them.   Well what was the first thing  that I thought of?  Something for the breakfast bar!   I've been looking for some home bar furniture every since we first moved in.  I want something that goes well with the room but, I also want something that my kids can't ruin in a month.  I can't get over all of the wonderful bar stools that they have!  I love this bar stool!  
And this one is so cute!  


Anyway, I'm sure I'll be shopping around for awhile for bar stools.  I'm way to picky.  lol

I have a lot of friends that ask me about Swag Bucks everyday. I decided that I'll type up a blog with tips of what I do to get more Swag Bucks. I hope this helps all of you get more Swag Bucks so that you can get some goodies at Amazon.com. :)

If you haven't joined Swag Bucks yet, I highly recommend it. It's really easy!
I earned enough Swagbucks last year from August to December to get all of my kids Chirstmas presents!!!




Do you do the survey of the day? You have a chance of getting 76 Swag Bucks each day. I don't qualify very often for it but, when I do I love it! lol All that you do is go under the tab Earn, then Special Offers, then TapJoy. You'll see survey of the day there. You can try it every day.

At midnight (Central Time) every night I search on Swag Bucks a bunch for about 20 minuets and usually get 2 to 3 chances of Swag Bucks doing that.

Then, I refresh my tool bar, right click Swag Bucks on the left of your tool bar and then click refresh tool bar. You get 1 swag buck for that.

Then, I do the daily poll. It's under the earn tab at the bottom. You get 1 swag buck for that.

Then, I click trusted surveys. It's under the earn tab and then trusted surveys. You don't have to do any surveys. You get one swag buck automatically for that.

Finally, I click NOSO under the earn tab and click through all the stuff there. I never sign up for any of it. At the end you get 1 swag buck for that.
